Since Nashville TN is dubbed as the “Music City,” it is but natural for Nashville to be the home of many famous singers in the country. Country music was said to be born in Nashville, that’s why a lot of musicians and songwriters take refuge in this lovely city. Here are some famous singers who treat Nashville TN as their home sweet home:

1. Johnny Cash – a famous country singer also known as the “Man in Black.” He is regarded as one of the most important musicians of the 20th century. Although he is famous for his country songs, he managed to transcend to other genres such as rock and roll and rockabilly. Because of his mastery of different types of music, he was inducted to three halls of fame: that of Rock and Roll, Country, and Gospel. Although he was born in Arkansas, he treated Nashville TN as his second home.

2. Jimi Hendrix – he is considered as one of the greatest guitarists who have ever lived by the Rolling Stones magazine in its 2003 countdown. Nashville TN became his training grounds when he was just starting off with his career. He became famous for his use of overdriven amplifiers which let off high treble and gain. In 1992, he was posthumously inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He was inducted in the UK Music hall of fame 13 years after.

3. Miley Ray Cyrus – Miley, famously known as “Hannah Montana” of the self-named Disney series, is perhaps the most famous Nashvillian of the decade. Miley, born in Nashville TN as Destiny Hope, is the daughter of country legend Billy Ray Cyrus. She has made headlines when she starred in Disney’s Hannah Montana, a show about a student by day and music star by night. Now, she has released three albums and has starred in several films as well.

4. Carrie Underwood – she made headlines when she won the 2005 edition of American Idol. She has won several Grammy, American Music and Billboard awards. Her debut album, Some Hearts, released in February 2006 earned seven platinum discs, making it the best-selling country music album in history. Underwood, whose first visit to Nashville TN was when she was 14 years old, has made it to the 2012 Guinness Book of World Records as the “Female Country Artist with the most number of number 1 hits.”

5. Taylor Swift – at the young age of 18, Taylor Swift managed to bag 4 Grammy awards, including the Album of the Year. That year, she was tagged as the best-selling musician of 2008. Ever since her debut in 2006, there has been no stopping Taylor Swift. Aside from singing, Taylor Swift has dabbled with acting as well. She starred in the movie “Valentine’s Day” alongside Twilight actor Taylor Lautner. Although Swift was born in Pennsylvania, she and her family relocated to Nashville TN when she has hired as the youngest songwriter by Scott Borchetta of Big Machine Records. She was just 14 years old then.
